Public Charter
Our purpose, our standards, and our commitment to the public
Who We Are & Why We Exist
DG Media, PR & Legal Affairs Ltd is an independent media and legal-affairs group registered in England & Wales. Through six specialist units — covering investigative journalism, public relations, fact-checking, open-source research and media-law support — we work to inform the public, to establish what is true, and to document and expose wrongdoing in the public interest.
We believe a free, accurate and accountable press strengthens society. Our purpose is not only to report, but to verify; not only to investigate, but to do so fairly, lawfully, and with care for the people affected by our work. This Charter sets out, openly, the standards by which we expect to be judged.
What We Stand For
We define the public interest broadly: holding power to account, exposing corruption, fraud and abuse, correcting the record where the public has been misled, and giving people the verified information they need. We pursue this mandate only through lawful means, and we recognise that we are a private organisation with no police or state powers. Where our work uncovers wrongdoing, we may document and publish it in the public interest and, where appropriate, refer it to lawful authorities.
Our Commitments to the Public
- Editorial Independence — our journalism is not directed by any advertiser, client or political interest; our PR work stays separate from our journalism.
- Accuracy & Verification — we verify before we publish, and distinguish fact from allegation and opinion.
- Fairness & Right of Reply — we offer a genuine, timely chance to respond before publishing material that may cause harm.
- Corrections & Accountability — we correct verified errors promptly and openly.
- Protection of Sources — confidential sources are handled securely and never disclosed to any party.
- Privacy & Dignity — we intrude into private life only where a clear, proportionate public interest justifies it.
- Lawful Conduct — we operate within the law in every jurisdiction and claim no powers we do not lawfully hold
- Independence from Improper Influence — sponsored content is always identified; conflicts of interest are disclosed and managed.
- Public Interest — we inform, verify, and lawfully expose wrongdoing, referring matters to authorities where appropriate.
How We Work
We verify material against evidence before publication and keep a record of how we did so. We do not fabricate, distort or plagiarise, and we authenticate images, video and documents where their accuracy matters. Sponsored or promotional content is always clearly identified, and we keep our public-relations work separate from our journalism.
Concerns, Corrections & Complaints
If you believe something we have published is inaccurate or unfair, or wish to raise a concern, please contact us at contact@dgmpl.co.uk. We will consider every genuine complaint, respond within a reasonable time, and correct verified errors promptly and openly.
Working With Sources
We protect those who share information with us in good faith. Confidential sources are handled through secure, dedicated channels, and their identities are never disclosed to any party. This protection is fundamental to our work and is not negotiable.
